Week 27: Project definition

In this week, the team had a meeting with Dr. Luís Gomes who presented very interesting ideas to be used in the project. The project now will consist in a negotiation between several agents of a house inserted in the energetic community the team has been developing projects for, in order to accomodate the energetic optimization of an algorithm that was developed in another challenge.

Basically, after the optimization algorithm has been executed, the house will need to either accommodate for new consumption values or stay with the same consumption levels. In the case the house has to diminish or increase its consumption, some devices may need to reduce their consumption or be shutdown, or they might be presented with more energetic flexibility. This decision of what happens to the consumption of each device is then decided by the negotiation of the device agents, of which some are connected to real IOT devices, and then communicated to the main house agent that might then help to decide the new consumption levels of each device and even communicate with other external agents to the house, like the battery agent or the market agent. Figure 1 shows a diagram of what the idea of the project is at this moment. The diagram might change slightly due to some difficulties that might arise relating to IOT devices or other complications that might come up, but this is what it going to start being implemented next week.
